A WALK IN ANDERSON COUNTY COMMUNITY PARK, LAWRENCEBURG, KENTUCKY

Anderson County Community Park is a great family place located off Highway 127 on the left going South just before you reach Walmart in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. lawrenceburg park - Copy

It is a beautiful park with lots of activities.  The first thing we saw when entering the park was the sign for the Lawrenceburg Disc Golf based in Lawrenceburg where disc golfing enthusiasts enjoy getting together, playing and enjoying experiences. Anderson County Community College9We decided to take the walking trail  since  it was a beautiful day in Kentucky even if it was a little cloudy. The walking trail takes you around the outskirts of the park and we stopped along the way to take pictures. Anderson County Community Park7There is a beautiful fishing lake that has bank access only.  The ducks were very friendly and even had to perform for us since no one was there fishing to interrupt their antics. Anderson County Community Park11 - CopyThe park has a baseball field, basketball court, soccer field and a great skate park.Anderson County Community ParkSeveral shelters and picnic areas and a place to play horseshoes only add to this beautiful little park outside the city of Lawrenceburg.  There is also a great playground for little children. A Meal With the Horses

Fashioned after an old country store, Windy Corner Market and Restaurant north of Lexington is right in the middle of some of America’s legendary horse farms. The restaurant uses Kentucky ingredients in their recipes and offers Kentucky foodstuffs for sale.

Eating a meal with horses may not sound very appetizing, but let me explain. Windy Corner Market is a one-of-a-kind restaurant that is surrounded by horse farms on each side. Going there to eat almost feels like your own personal escape from the hectic life (for me, college life) you lead on a daily basis. I guess if you are not a huge horse fan, you may not find the surroundings to be so oasis-like, but you get the point.

Windy Corner Market is a restaurant I am thrilled to have stumbled upon during my search for brunch spots in/near Lexington. Although my friends and I did not make it there in time for brunch, the brunch menu sounds nothing less of amazing. I will definitely be back to try it out.

CEDAR CREEK LAKE IN LINCOLN COUNTY

Cedar Creek Lake is a 762  acre fishing lake located between Stanford and Crab Orchard in Lincoln County.  IMG_5020This is the second largest state controlled lake in Kentucky and is stocked with bluegill, black crappie, channel catfish, large mouth bass and sunfish.  All trees and shrubs were left in the lake to provide a fisherman’s paradise.

A buffer zone surrounds the perimeter of the lake and there are 3 boat ramps that provide access to the lake.  There is no lodging at the lake and the nearest major city is Danville.

Cedar Creek Lake Outfitters, in Central Kentucky, one mile East of the dam on Hwy 150, is a full service bait and tackle shop, including live bait for your fishing needs. You can check them out here:  Cedar Creek Outfitters
