Keeneland was founded in 1935 and is the global leader in Thoroughbred horse auctions and conducts world-class Thoroughbred horse racing every April and October.

The 1st million-dollar yearling in Thoroughbred history, Canadian Bound, was sold in 1976 at Keeneland.

In 2009, the Horseplayers Association of North America introduced a rating system for 65 Thoroughbred racetracks in North America. Of the top ten, Keeneland was ranked #1.

Lexington is considered “The Horse Capital of the World” with more than 450 beautiful horse farms with either white or black board fences and if you ever fly into Lexington Airport this area is a sight to behold from the air!

Lexington, Kentucky Burger Week!

Who doesn’t LOVE a great burger!!! This is the first Lexington Burger Week, July 6-12th! There are 20 participating restaurants, each establishment will create a $5.00 special burger that is not on their regular menu. Chefs will be competing to make the most unique burger in town! Check out this link to see the burgers… they look amazing!! The restaurants that are participating are all great local favorites! This is a great opportunity to try some great burgers in this great city.

There are a list of 5 commandments on their website everyone should take the time to check out! You are actually getting a 10-15.00 burger for 5.00 so be generous with your tip and it is always nice to order a drink or other food.

If you are vegetarian don’t feel left out, Al’s Bar offers a lentil patty.

Farmers Market…. Lexington, Kentucky

The Farmers Market is a wonderful way to support your community and enjoy fresh produce. Lexington has a wonderful Farmers Market that brings many people together every week! Nothing better than getting up on Saturday morning, coffee in hand and heading down to the 5/3 Pavilion. Enjoy picking up some fresh vegetables, grass-fed beef, lamb, goat cheese, beer cheese, olive oil and many more wonderful products. Many of the market vendors come from all over Central Kentucky.
