It’s one of the best-selling vehicles Lexus makes and now it’s made in the United States. Today the first-ever U.S.-produced ES 350 rolled off the assembly line at Toyota’s Georgetown, Kentucky plant.

“This is really a proud moment for us and brings us full circle,” said Wil James, president, Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, Inc.  “To be the first wholly owned plant, building the number one best-selling car in America, the Camry, for 13 years in a row, and then to be selected to build the first Lexus is truly a tribute to our team members.”

To get the plant ready, Toyota has invest $360 million in a new dedicated assembly line, adding 750 new jobs. Total capacity for the new line will be 50,000 vehicles.

Red State BBQ… Lexington, Kentucky

Red State BBQ is a wonderful treat right outside of Lexington, Kentucky. If you love BBQ you can’t go wrong with this unique spot. This roadside restaurant has wonderful food. You know when you can’t get into the parking lot they have something great to offer. We have eaten at Red State BBQ twice and each time has been amazing. The menu is great, with lots of different options and the sides are amazing. I have to recommend the Mac and Cheese, it is incredible!

Fall in Kentucky is one of the most beautiful seasons of the year.  This is the front yard of a farm in Georgetown, Kentucky.  The trees are so beautiful this time of the year.  There is a quote by Shira Tamir that says, “Anyone that thinks fallen leaves are dead has never watched them dancing on a windy day.”  I think the leaves are beautiful as they flutter to the ground in the fall.  The colors on a fall day in Kentucky are like looking at a painting.  We Kentuckians are very lucky to live in such a beautiful place.
